Lightning Dance
For too long
I have forgotten
the dance.
The beat of blood
movement
unabashed
uncensored
unleashed—
feet lifting from grass
arms lifting to sky.
Here
with the sentinel pines
the swooping bats
the night sky thunder
I dance—
remembering
that I
can conjure
lightning.
Thanks for joining us. This is really powerful and does something new with dancing, night and weather. Lovely!
